Two opportunities for Mme Carruthers’ Y9 students to win a prize:

1. Visit http://www.quia.com/cz/5511.html?AP_rand=2123199680 and do the adjective exercise. Write out the words, their feminine forms and their meanings. You may need to look some of them up. Bring your completed paper to class on Wednesday 12 December in order to win a prize and a merit.

2. Create a Voki and send it to Mme Carruthers by email at Portland Place. Your Voki can be any character you wish to create but you must make it speak (either by recording your voice or typing the words then choosing “French” for the accent). It must describe itself … e.g. “J’ai les cheveux noirs et les yeux marron”. Give lots of details. Do NOT use your full name. You can make up a pretend name. If you use your full name I will not be able to publish your Voki on this site. Bonne chance!

Do activity 5 on page 15.  Write 6 sentences about yourself using the questions.  Use the italics to help you start your own sentence.

Do the three exercises to practise adjectives on the sheet I gave you in class today.  Make sure you write your name on the sheet and I will collect it in class on 7 November.

Write at least five sentences about your pet, in French.  If you don’t have a pet, pretend that you do!  To help you look at page 10 of Tricolore 3 that we were working on today.

You have been asked to create a poster “Ma famille”.  (Some of 9A have already submitted some fantastic work).  Write 10 sentences about your family.  You can use photos and pictures.  Best work to be displayed on the classroom wall.

Do activity 6 on page 8.  Use the “dossier-langue” in the box above to try to find the correct form of the verb.  So for example, “habiter” is an ER verb so the ending will be the same as for “jouer”.  Therefore no. 1 will be “J’habite”.  You do not need to write out all the text, just the verbs – i.e. A.1 J’habite; 2. Je parle; 3. …… etc.
